Unorthodox shots in cricket are a joy to watch. Here are 5 Batsmen from the cricket world who have started playing unorthodox shots
1) SACHIN TENDULKAR
The ‘Little Master’ from India Sachin Tendulkar inaugurated the uppercut to deflect the bouncers and guide them to the boundary line on speedy wickets. Risky shot obviously!
2) KEVIN PIETERSEN
English’s pride Kevin Pietersen first played this unorthodox shot against the bowling of New Zealand’s Scott Styris and has mastered this shot. Now many batsmen around the globe have started following him.
3) DOUGLAS MARILLIER
The spoon shot came alive via the hands of Zimbabwe’s Douglas Marillier. This shot is sure to give runs to the batting team as the fielding team cannot keep a fielder just behind the wicketkeeper. 😉
4) MAHENDRA SINGH DHONI
The Helicopter shot paved its way when India’s Mahendra Singh Dhoni first played it by engaging his power-packed bottom hand. The only disadvantage of this shot is that the batsman might injure his toes which might result in bidding goodbye to his cricket career.
5) AB DE VILLIERS
When you speak of unorthodox shots the player which hits your mind is South Africa’s jewel AB De Villiers. This guy is an absolute class and his batting manners show that cricket can be artistic too.
